According to the police, the incident led to an afternoon of chaos with shots fired, and the suspect being taken to the hospital. Dr. Stinson, a retired Miami-Dade school board member, was known for his 14-year tenure on the board. Prior to that, he was a teacher, principal, and administrator. CBS 4 spoke with him nine years ago when he retired from the school board. Stinson expressed that he believed it was time for him to step aside and let someone else take over. Currently, Stinson is in police custody and faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm. The Pembroke Pines Police state that the incident occurred when Stinson got into a confrontation over a parking space in front of the AMC movie theater. The confrontation involved a man and woman who were in separate cars talking to each other.
